Gardening With My Muck Garden Shoes

Some time ago, I was the working mom, with a great family, nice house, and a good job. Actually it was a long time ago, twenty years. Nowadays it’s just me, my children have moved out and on their own and my husband passed away a few years ago.

I’m a retired schoolteacher with twenty seven years of teaching, and I can still remember every single year, and that one child in each class that I had such an impact on. I enjoy running into my former students just about everywhere I go. It’s one of those joyful lifelong experiences that keep giving.

My other lifelong passion is a hobby that I tend to every summer is gardening. Having the summers off is the biggest benefit to teaching school, us teachers used to look forward to it more than the kids every year.

I don’t have a very big place, just enough for a few rows of herbs, vegetables, and some corn. Every morning after breakfast, I put on my favorite Muck Shoes and head out to check on the plants. It’s really a thrill for me to watch all my plants grow. Naturally my kids are my biggest accomplishment in life, but this does come close.

My neighbor across the street bought me these Muck Boots for Mother’s day on year. I love the fact that they resist any garden type contaminants. The pink color is perfect for me. For gardening, they work the best.
